Image of God

Just like you can make an image of a leaf appear through a piece of paper with a crayon, so can the image of God can appear in us through His Word on paper. What a powerful and wonderful illustration of God through his creation!

I don't know what to do! I don't have the time!

Life is busier now that we have a baby added to our family this fall. I have less time and brain capacity to think up Family Time activities. God always provides me with something He wants our family to talk about one night a week - Monday for us. Here's a couple of quick resource I use:
  1. Sunday School material - I review what my children have been talking about on Sunday and we take another look at the art project they brought home. ( And again ask, what is this? -j/k)
  2. Workbooks - Christian bookstores have many different materials for you to use appropriate for any age group. (www.famtime.com has a great list too.)
  3. Children's Bible - Have your child pick a story from their Bible. They feel empowered to be a part of the planning process of family night.
  4. Music - Memory verses set to music or just the traditional songs are great to sing along as a family. (Take some time to explain the words or story in the song) Maybe have a night of just worship music to God!

Whatever comes to be, pray that God will guide you in planning Family Night - He's always full of ideas!

Link finally viewable!

Hey Folks,
For some reason I was having the hardest time getting the new Elementary spreadsheet to display properly. It's address is: http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=ppiDZ7YunhtZrb5BdEU7IWA

If for any reason they don't work, I'm also adding them to my preschool 100+ spreadsheet highlighted in yellow.

Family Time Structure

  1. Start with song, simple that everyone can easily sing along. (We sing "B-I-B-L-E")
  2. Review what we've talked about this week or last week at Family Night.
  3. Main Activity with Bible verse
  4. Pray as a Family

Preschoolers NO Longer!

Here I have started to list my elementary family time activities because my children are officially no longer preschoolers . Hopefully we'll be able to challenge them even more as they progress in their skill levels.! Check out my spreadsheet to the left, that link is working.

Devotions for preschoolers

Following the format of Family Time Training, I have planned devotions for my family with twin preschoolers. We started when they were almost 2 years old and now that they are 4, I've decided to log all of these activities. My hope is to encourage more families to start doing devotionals with their children. It's been a great experience so far.
Lord, go before me, as I create these log of times we've spent with you and learning about you.
