Honor in Action

We took an in-house field trip at family night tonight. We first took a trip around the house to find a squecky door and oil it. It was an example of their next activity. The challenge was to find 3 things that goes under these criteria:

• If its broken, fix it
• If its empty, fill it
• If its open, shut it
• If its out, put it away
• If its messy, clean it up
• If you can't, report it

Instead of nagging to get the work done, the children had to take initiative to do the work themselves. We learned that you bring honor to your family when you work together as a team and go above the normal expectations. Honor in the family is like oil in a machine, it makes things run better.
